About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites compassionate and caring individuals to join their early years team as Level 2 or Unqualified Nursery Practitioners in Taplins Nursery. This nurturing setting supports children aged 3 months to 5 years within a fun, engaging environment.
Key Details
- Location: Taplins Nursery (University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, South Coast)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM (closed on bank holidays)

Main Job Responsibilities
You will:
- Care for groups of children (ages 3 months–5 years), ensuring all needs and nurturing activities are met.
- Plan, organise, and deliver fun, age-appropriate engaging activities.
- Work in a purpose-built, high-quality early years setting.
- Align with the Trust’s values: Patients First, Always Improving, and Working Together.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential Criteria
- Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE or above.
- Willingness and ability to undertake Food Safety training.
- Prior experience working with 3-month to 5-year-olds in a childcare setting.
- Trust alignment with Patient First, Always Improving, Working Together behaviours.

Desirable Criteria
- Ability to pursue a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Education.
- Current Paediatric/First Aid at Work certification.
- Valid Food Hygiene certificate.
