LEVEL 2 TEACHING ASSISTANT (SEND)
Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Required for September 2026
Boston Spa Academy are seeking to recruit an inspirational and committed colleague to the role of Level 2 Teaching Assistant (SEND). This role is of great importance to our work as an academy and offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people.

Role Purpose
The successful candidate will join our dedicated SEND team, working under the direction of the SENDCo / Assistant Principal of SEND, to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement work, care, and support programmes to enable pupil access to learning
- Work closely with individuals and small groups, tailoring interventions as needed
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals on effective classroom and behaviour management
- Promote independence, confidence, and engagement among SEND pupils
- Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Person Specification – What We’re Looking For
We are searching for a selfless, patient, and results-driven professional who:
- Is passionate about inclusive education and believes all pupils can achieve success
- Thrives in a fast-paced, diverse environment with mixed age groups and abilities
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Shows adaptability, creativity in problem-solving, and enthusiasm for new ways of working
- Is and impatient with colleagues and pupils (noted: patient should replace “impatient”)
Experience/Qualifications (of value):
✅ Completion of the DfES Teacher Assistant Induction Programme ✅ Holding NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants ✅ Relevant classroom qualifications or experience ✅ Prior experience supporting SEND pupils, or first-hand knowledge of SEND strategies (including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and EHCP administrative support)
