Position Overview

** Employer:** St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust (St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School) ** Role:** Level 2 Teaching Assistant (fixed term until 31st August 2027 in the first instance) ** Terms:** Term time only ** Pay Grade:** Grade 3 / Spine Point 5-6 ** Salary:** £25,583 – £25,989 (FTE) / Actual Salary: £11,597 – £11,781 ** Hours:** 19.5 hours/week (Wednesday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) ** Annual Paid Weeks:** 44.85 ** Start Date:** September 2026

About the Role

The Governors are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support learning in this popular, over-subscribed Church school.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help maximise children’s potential, with a particular focus on supporting: ➤ Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 ➤ Key Stage 2 (including more able pupils) ➤ Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) ➤ Raising standards and impacting on pupil attainment


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality teaching assistance, ensuring all learners meet their full potential.
  • Support classroom management, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver individualised interventions for children requiring additional support.
  • Assist with behaviour management and maintaining safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with specialist teams (e.g., SENDCO, speech & language therapists) where applicable.
  • Align instructional support with School Improvement Plan goals.
  • Model good practice to nurture professional development within the團隊.

✅ Proven supporting experience in EYFS/KS1 and Key Stage 2, with expertise in working with:

  • More able pupils
  • Children with SEND, including those with complex needs

✅ Impactful track record of raising attainment and promoting inclusion.

✅ Communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with:

  • Pupils, colleagues
  • Parents/cariboues

✅ Professional knowledge of:

  • English & Mathematics curriculum requirements
  • Safeguarding policies
