Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship
Working in a childcare setting with children ranging from ages 0 - 5.
Your apprenticeship will last for 13 months and will lead to an Advanced Diploma Early Years. This apprenticeship requires dedication, commitment, and punctuality.
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade C/4 or above)
- GCSE in Maths (grade C/4 or above)
- Other relevant qualifications and industry experience are welcomed and can adjust the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
- Working in a childcare setting with children aged 0-5.
- Completing day-to-day childcare tasks to ensure children's needs, welfare, and education are met.
- Helping children learn numeracy and language skills through games, singing, role-play, and storytelling.
- Liaising with parents and external customers to provide a high level of service.
- Meeting the care needs of individual children, including feeding, nappy changes, and administering medicine.
- Recognising when a child or colleague is at risk of abuse and acting to protect them.
- Applying legislation, policy, and procedure to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of children.
- Applying the principles of risk assessment and management.
- Teaching children to manage risk and maintain safety.
- Using various communication methods, including technology, with other professionals.
- Developing and maintaining effective professional relationships.
- Undertaking the role and responsibilities of a key person.
- Applying theories of attachment to build effective relationships with children.
- Providing sensitive and respectful personal care.
- Advocating for all children's needs, including those requiring SEND or EAL support.
- Promoting and facilitating children's interpersonal communication.
- Supporting children to develop a positive sense of identity and culture.
- Supporting children to understand and respond to their emotions and behaviours.
- Assessing and creating responsive, child-centred environments.
- Creating inclusive and supportive emotional environments.
- Applying strategies to support children's ability to manage change and transition.
- Analysing observation evidence to plan individual learning.
- Facilitating and supporting child-centred opportunities and experiences.
- Providing adult-led opportunities and experiences.
- Reflecting to develop professionally and personally.
- Completing a paediatric first aid qualification.

Application Process
- This is an apprenticeship role.
- Training will take place in the workplace with 10 days of online training over the 13-month apprenticeship.
