Location: Blackley, Manchester
Contract: Temporary (Long-term)
Full Time: Monday to Friday
Pay: £105 - £115 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Expected End Date: End of the academic year
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Blackley is seeking an experienced and dedicated Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across the primary age range.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets. You will play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN, adapting learning to meet individual needs
- Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals
- Encouraging pupil independence while providing appropriate levels of support
- Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day

The Successful Applicant Will
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school setting
- Be patient, nurturing, resilient, and proactive in their approach
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs and promoting positive behaviour
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time from September
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child and Adult Workforce) registered on the DBS Update Service (essential)

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) registered on the DBS Update Service, satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2025) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
