Level 3 Teaching Assistant: St Ives

Location: St Ives and Surrounding Areas (Cambridgeshire)

Contract Type: Long-Term Assignment

Hours: Part-Time (with excellent flexibility to suit your schedule)

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Learning Support: Deliver tailored interventions and lead small group activities in literacy, numeracy, and phonics under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with the class teacher to prepare resources, manage classroom dynamics, and create a vibrant, inclusive environment for learning.
  • 1:1 Pupil Engagement: Support individual pupils, including those with additional learning needs or EHCPs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.
  • Foster Independence: Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development across the primary age range.

Candidate Requirements

  • Level 3 Childcare/Education Qualification (e.g., Level 3 NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent Support Work in Schools qualification) is essential.
  • Proven experience working within a primary school setting across EYFS, KS1, or KS2.
  • A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and early foundational skills.
  • A warm, nurturing, and proactive approach with confident behaviour management skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one immediately).
