Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Southall School
Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Supporting the Wellbeing Team)
Location: Southall School, South Telford
Hours: 32.5 per week (term-time plus professional development days)
Post Type: Permanent
Southall School, a primary school by Telford & Wrekin Council, is seeking an enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the Wellbeing Team and support pupils across the school. The role offers a rewarding opportunity to help develop and reinforce the social, emotional, and behavioural well-being of our students, with a particular focus on those with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and complex needs.
It would be particularly desirable for applicants to have relevant experience in working with children who have SEN and complex needs.
About the Role
- Work closely with the Wellbeing Team, supporting individual pupils and small groups
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCo, and other support teams to create an inclusive and nurturing school environment
- Contribute to pastoral care, interventions, and well-being programmes
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and patient approach

Desired Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 in Teaching Assistants (or equivalent experience)
- Sound understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding best practice
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong literacy and numeracy skills
This position is Level 3, offering a starting salary of £13.90 per hour.
