Leveraged Finance Associate - NQ – 2PQE - US International Firm

A leading US international law firm is seeking to enhance its Leveraged Finance practice with an ambitious junior associate, offering a brand-new role—not a recycled post.

This team is at the heart of the market’s evolving activity, advising a range of sponsors, borrowers, bank lenders, and direct lenders on:

  • Sponsor-backed acquisitions
  • Refinancings
  • Term loan B, unitranche, and high-yield financings
  • The ongoing convergence of syndicated loan and private credit markets

This is a lean, high-performance team delivering real, hands-on exposure right from day one:

  • Running signing conditions independently
  • Direct client liaison
  • Immersive deal work (not months of document review alone)
  • Limited junior headcount (two Associates) means immediate direct access to partners and early responsibility—guaranteed, not promised.

About the Team

Their small yet vibrant core (3–4 partners) has recently expanded with:

  • New partners bringing fresh momentum, client relationships, and a strengthened private credit offering
  • A broad mandate covering:
    • Acquisition finance
    • Refinancings
    • Recapitalisations
    • Restructuring-adjacent work
  • Balanced opportunity across both sponsor-side and lender-side mandates
  • A collaborative culture with genuine partner accessibility
  • No fixed seating plan: the team is distributed across floors to encourage cross-practice interactions with Corporate, Restructuring, and Private Credit colleagues

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
