An international law firm with a highly regarded Finance practice is looking to grow its Leveraged Finance team with an Associate hire at junior to mid-level.
The team sits within a broader Debt Finance practice covering leveraged finance, real estate finance, asset-based lending, secured and unsecured corporate lending, and non-contentious debt restructuring. This is a dedicated leveraged finance role, with opportunities to flex into other areas of Debt Finance as your experience grows.
About the role
You'll work on both borrower and lender side transactions, with clients including traditional banks, challenger banks, alternative lenders, private equity sponsors, and corporates. You'll gain broad exposure across acquisition financings and cashflow lending, including senior, unitranche, super senior, mezzanine, and holdco PIK facilities, and will work alongside the Private Equity team on the financing side of leveraged buyouts.
Much of the work is cross-border, so you'll get real exposure to navigating overseas jurisdictions and multi-party deal processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
