Now, a role for a lawyer with leveraged finance (encompassing private credit and/or) high yield experience has arisen in this business that provides principal financing and engages in secondary market investing across the capital structure.
The successful candidate will form part of a high-calibre, global team of lawyers who sit directly alongside a dynamic front office of high achievers. Despite this being a legal position, you will be an integral part of the deal team and not be separate from them. More specifically you will:

- Manage the life cycle of a transaction from embryonic/strategic stages through to execution

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are looking for lawyers from the top-tier US and UK law firms, or those who may be considering a move from a relevant in-house team who are adept at problem solving and thinking 'outside of the box'.
You must be a lawyer who can be comfortable sitting directly with a business team and can respond to queries with an ‘open door policy’ and be naturally able to disseminate complex legal matters through a commercial lens for a non-legal audience.
Aside from a leveraged finance/ private credit background, in-house experience in a credit/distressed debt fund would be relevant, as would accompanying experience in matters like restructuring or real estate.

The most attractive facet of this opportunity is the expertise of the legal and business team you will be surrounded by both in London and overseas, who are collegiate and supportive. That being said you will have the freedom to work autonomously - with significant responsibility over on your own portfolio of clients with a reporting line directly to the Global General Counsel for this business.
