Local Governance Professional (Clerk to the School Governing Body)
Location
Across Southampton, Portsmouth, Dorset, and Poole with flexible working arrangements (remote/hybrid) and the option to support multiple schools.
Contract
- Hours: Permanent, term-time only
- 60 hours per school per year (to cover 6 meetings per committee in late afternoon/evening during term)
- 15 training hours included
- Salary (FTE Grade 6: £28,792–£31,022)
- 1 school: £1,285–£1,385 per annum
- 2 schools: £2,316–£2,495 per annum
- 3 schools: £3,446–£3,713 per annum
- Start Date: ASAP

- Interview: Individual basis

Job Summary
You’ll support local governing committee meetings by:
- Organising and administering meetings
- Drafting accurate minutes
- Providing advisory guidance on governance matters
- Offering on-the-job governance training, if required
Essential skills:
- Strong administrative experience
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage workloads
- Impartiality, confidentiality, and data protection compliance
Ideal candidate:
- Positive, adaptable individual
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to excel in flexible, stakeholder-oriented work
