About The Role
The LGV Compliance Manager is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on vehicle legality compliance, ensuring that logistics operations adhere to all relevant transport regulations and legislation, particularly concerning vehicles, drivers, and maintenance. This role is integral to driving best practices in Health & Safety and ensuring full legal compliance across all transport and fleet operations!
Role Details
Working Hours: Standard 9-5 hours, but flexibility is expected around operational requirements, which may include working outside of usual hours. Location/Travel: This role requires regular travel to multiple LGV sites across the UK. Travel expenses (besides the home site location) will be covered
You will be
Using your strong knowledge of transport legislation (including EU tachograph, WTD, vehicle weights & dimensions) to ensure full legal compliance in all areas of transport and fleet operations Driving best practices and maintaining adherence to Health & Safety policies and legislative requirements at the CFC and throughout the region Developing business cases for continuous improvement and detailing implementation plans to guide the management team in delivering initiatives Conducting internal and external audits for agency, service providers, and contractors to ensure consistency and compliance across operations Utilising your expertise in IT systems, including Transport Management Systems (TMS) and compliance tools, to manage and analyse data

About You
As the ideal candidate for the LGV Compliance Manager role, we are looking for a outgoing self-starter who will be the "go-to" person for all the Transport compliance requirements. This in an opportunity to grow at the forefront of retail logistics and modernise the LGV function, with full backing from our Head of Fleet and Transport!
Required Skills/Abilities
An up-to-date Transport Manager CPC and strong knowledge of the external legalities and regulations Experience working in a similar, specialist role and an understanding of Operator Licence (O Licence) requirements A strong grasp of technical compliance standards, including Driver Hours Rules (EC reg 561/2006, 165/2014, 1054/2020), Working Time Directive (RTWTR 2005), maintaining roadworthiness, and the responsibilities related to Transport Managers (EC reg 1071/2009, Stat doc 3, 6). The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and demonstrate a positive track record in attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels to lead, coach, and mentor team members A resilient and solutions-focused approach, capable of working under pressure
