Business Area: Nestle UK&I

Location: York

Salary: £41,418.00 plus 33% shift allowance.

Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Annualised hours incorporating 2 days/2 nights on 4 days off rolling - Inclusive of Bank Holidays)

Variable start times from 04:00- 07:00 / 16:00-19:00 (12 hours shifts)

We are recruiting for LGV Driver’s in our York Distribution Centre. This is a temporary, full-time opportunity on a 6-month fixed term contract.

Your impact

Ultimately, you will be responsible for the safe and timely movement of Nestle goods around the UK.

  • Safely and efficiently operate HGV vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products while adhering to delivery schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour.
  • Loading and unloading goods.
  • Completing paperwork and documentation.
  • Ensuring that all necessary safety regulations are followed.
  • Working as part of a team to deliver the best quality service.

Your ingredients for success

  • Full HGV C+E (class1) licence – preferably clean.
  • Digital Tacho and Driver Qualification Cards.
  • Strong knowledge of Drivers hours, regulations, and Working time directive.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge and ability to navigate efficiently using GPS and other navigation tools.
  • Ideally previous experience in a customer facing driving role (not essential).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to effectively navigate common IT systems, applications, and platforms.
