Company Description

CML part of the Culina Group are now recruiting for LGV Driver. CML stores and delivers a wide variety of food products across the ambient and chilled temperature ranges, while it also offers a series of added value solutions to their clients.

Job Description

  • Report to the Transport Office at the start of shift for briefing.
  • Comply with and follow all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety requirements, hygiene standards, and driver handbook guidelines.
  • Ensure all paperwork and pre-checks are completed accurately and in full.
  • Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure.
  • Ensure defects are reported promptly and that all defect reports are completed accurately and in full when required.
  • Always comply with all tachograph rules and regulations and promptly report any infringements.
  • Effectively manage working time in compliance with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph regulations.
  • Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks and recording.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Transport Department operations.
  • Always maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance.
  • Make deliveries to customers’ premises, always acting in a professional manner.
  • Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery & collection point.
  • Report any issues with delivery or collection arrival times, delays, or load discrepancies immediately.
  • Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery.
  • Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.
  • Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business.

Qualifications

  • Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence and valid DCPC.
  • Minimum 6 months experience driving LGV.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ training.
  • Conscientious and reliable.
  • Professional and approachable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Able to work using own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.

  • OTE include a commitment to a certain number of extra/overtime shifts, shift premiums and payments over 11 hour shifts.

Compensation: up to GBP 48113.03 - yearly
