Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join our team at Dunbeg.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving who also wishes to gain insights into the construction materials industry. As part of the team, you will ensure our products—such as concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates—are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legal and company standards. Full training on our processes and products will be provided, enabling you to meet our rigorous Health, Safety, and Environmental Management standards.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Safely operate LGV (Class 2) vehicles in compliance with UK road laws and company policies
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report faults or mechanical issues promptly
  • Load and unload goods using proper manual handling techniques or equipment
  • Deliver materials—including concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates—cleanly, safely, and on time
  • Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by accurate paperwork and documentation

On-the-Road Responsibilities

  • Maintain open communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays, route changes, or operational challenges
  • Protect the integrity of the load during transit
  • Adhere to legal obligations while prioritising health, safety, and environmental compliance

Administrative and Team duties

  • Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and any required digital documentation accurately and promptly
  • Provide exceeds-expectations customer service, reinforcing Breedon Group’s professional image
  • Collaborate with the team while demonstrating flexibility in working hours, including occasional nights and weekends

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Category C or C+E LGV driving licence
  • Current Driver CPC qualification

Preferred Experience (but not mandatory)

  • Proven experience as an LGV driver
  • Strong knowledge of local road networks and route planning

  • A hardworking, positive, and adaptable attitude, with eagerness to learn
