LGV Driver – Permanent Position

LOCATION Unit 5, Mandela Way Bricklayers Arms Southwark, London City, SE1 5SS

The Pay

  • £17.91 per hour
  • + £2.72 ph night rate premium (18:00–06:00)
  • Enhanced overtime rates

Contract & Working Hours

  • Permanent position
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift pattern: 20:15–06:15 (Changes may occur, typically up to ±1 hour due to operational needs)

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

  • Nationwide deliveries & collections with a focus on LGV-friendly locations
  • Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to ensure seamless operations
  • Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage routes while maintaining full compliance
  • Maintain professional external relations with dispatchers and customers across the UK
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safety in all driving conditions

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

✅ Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE licence) ✅ CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card ✅ Minimum 12 months of experience driving Class 1 vehicles ✅ Excellent knowledge of UK roads with a secondary safety-first mindset
