About the Role
Love the freedom of driving but want the stability and tech-forward support of a global brand? As a LGV Relief/Tramper Driver, you’ll play a critical role in bulk logistics between DPD’s hubs and key customers nationwide.
At DPD UK (part of Geopost, Europe’s leading parcel and e-commerce solutions provider), you’ll deliver more than parcels—you’ll move the buses behind the UK supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle state-of-the-art HGV operations across the UK.
- Sleep in secured DPD sites (4 nights per week) ready for next-day deliveries.
- Operate a modern, high-tech fleet with GPS and advanced logistics integration—no legacy systems.
- High autonomy: Plan your own routes, manage deadlines, and keep operations running smoothly.
- Core focus: Independence, problem-solving, and delivering with a "safety-first" mindset.
- Work closely with other drivers and DPD sites to ensure seamless bulk transport operations.

- Wage: £16.35/hour + £2.72/hour night premium (as applicable).

Requirements
Essential
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence (including CPC card).
- Minimum 12 months' experience driving LGV rigid vehicles (class 1).
- Strong geographical knowledge of UK roads—side trips and detours happen.
- Excellent pro-active problem-solving—all while keeping deadlines and customer promises.
- Strong alignment with DPD’s core values (Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring & Accountability).
Desirable
- Operational experience in bulk freight transport.
- Advanced qualifications or specialised training (e.g., ADR, sub-category exemptions).
