LGV Driver - Relief/Tramping

LGV Relief/Tramper Driver – DPD Sheffield

Location: Unit 11, Cowley Way Sheffield, S35 1QP

Contract: Permanent, 40 Hours Per Week Days of Work: Monday to Friday Start Window: 14:00 - 18:00

About the Role

Here at DPD, we need an LGV Relief/Tramper Driver to become a vital part of our fast-moving network. In this role, you’ll be responsible for long-distance hauls between sites and key customers, moving palletised freight across the UK—literally keeping the country running.

  • Hourly Wage: £16.35 per hour
  • Night Premium: £2.72 per hour for overnight or late shifts
  • Daily Allowances: £28.67 for food & subsistence

Your Daily Routine & Responsibilities

The Rodeo & Responsibilities

  • Primarily stay overnight: 4 nights/week sleeping securely within Vehicle Caboose squashes at DPD sites
  • Drive state-of-the-art HGVs: Our modern fleet supports your route-planning and deliveries
  • Tech-forward operations: Use next-gen GPS and logistics platforms—no outdated systems
  • High-autonomy environment: You’ll manage your own routes, stay professional, and meet deadlines
  • Bulk specialist: Dominate wide region movements and direct high-value shipments between warehouses

Specifically What We Need

  • Deliver efficiency: Assure smooth handoff from depot to depot across the nation
  • High standards: Wan success on driver scorecards
  • Professional approach driving via networks of hubs and transfer points

What Qualifications and Skills We're Looking for

Essential Technical Requirements

  • Must hold a valid UK LGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence
  • In possession of a CPC Card and digital tachograph card
  • Minimum 12 months LGV driving experience (class 1 or above)
