LGV Shift Supervisor

Location: Dordon, Tamworth. Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (rotating day and night shifts) Shift Times: 07:00-19:00 & 19:00-07:00 Why Ocado? About the Role We wouldn't be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members who keep our business running and our vans delivering. We are looking for a motivated LGV Shift Supervisor to join our dynamic logistics team in Dordon, Tamworth. Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (including both days and nights), you will be a key member of our transport operations. Your aim is to lead our team of LGV drivers and oversee our modern fleet to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and operational efficiency are maintained. You will be In this position you will use your leadership skills as an LGV Shift Supervisor to mentor and motivate a team of drivers, fostering a positive environment while professionally handling employee relations in line with company policy. Your key responsibilities will be the following: People Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of LGV drivers, providing effective feedback and support to foster their success. Professionally handle employee issues in line with company policies and procedures. Collaborate with the training team to successfully onboard new employees and coordinate any remedial training required. Cultivate a positive and inclusive working environment to boost morale, promote excellence, and minimize employee churn. Shift and Fleet Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of our vehicle fleet, ensuring maximum availability and safety. Record and monitor vehicle defects, manage the driver defect process, and coordinate with fleet technicians. Manage vehicle breakdowns and recovery efficiently to minimize operational disruption. Monitor and administer vehicle systems, including Samsara maintenance and temperature monitoring. Handle administrative tasks such as unit downloads, trailer wash cycles, and tracking missing mileage. Conduct workplace inspections, yard checks, and audits to ensure compliance. Health & Safety: Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all tasks are performed in line with training and Safe Systems of Work. Ensure you and your team observe all site safety rules and use appropriate PPE. Report all accidents, incidents, and potential hazards immediately to your line manager. About you You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of managing or supervising large teams, ideally within a fast-paced logistics environment. You possess a current and valid UK Driving Licence. You have strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders as an LGV Shift Supervisor. Ideally you have a solid understanding of the UK Highway Code, EU driving regulations, and Working Time Directives. Ideally you are familiar with standard HR policies and have a background in FMCG, fleet management, or health and safety. Why Join Ocado?
