About the Role
We're seeking a manager passionate about learning, leading and logistics to manage a team in our Transport department. As a LGV Team Manager, you oversee all aspects of our Transport operation and responsibilities related to our Operator's License which include and are not limited to fleet, facilities, and team management.
The role operates on a full-time permanent basis with 42-hour per week schedules (average) and on a 4 on 4 off pattern (12-hour shifts). Shifts rotate between Days, Mids and Nights. It’s a fantastic opportunity to advance your career in a key role within a leading company. It's a 24-hour operation and team managers are expected to rotate from days and nights.
Although experience in logistics is beneficial, it’s not required. If you have strong transferable skills, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the transport department, including shift scheduling and fleet management.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers to ensure high performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Exceed customer expectations by ensuring efficient and professional service delivery.
- Represent the Ocado brand professionally, maintaining high standards in service and safety.

About You
- People management and team-building skills.
- Excellent highway code knowledge.
- Knowledge of EU drivers' hours rules and Working Time Directive regulations for mobile workers.
- Previous experience in a similar environment such as, Fleet, distribution, warehousing, Freight, Retail or Health and Safety.
- Operator License awareness training and general Transport industry specific training and development is highly desirable, not essential.
- Experience communicating with stakeholders and service providers.
- Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.
