Liability Technical Quality Lead

Job Location: Leeds / UK / Hybrid

Job Type: Permanent

Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications

Are you an experienced liability claims professional with a passion for technical excellence, quality improvement, and developing others?

We’re looking for a Liability Technical Quality Lead to join our Technical Governance team, playing a key role in strengthening the quality, consistency, and technical standards of liability claims handling across our TPA business.

This is an opportunity to step beyond traditional claims handling and build broader influence across the function. You’ll work closely with claims teams, leaders, and clients to drive technical improvement, support capability development, and help shape a culture centred on learning, coaching, and continuous improvement.

The role combines technical leadership with oversight responsibility and continued direct involvement in claims handling through a small caseload. If you enjoy influencing positive change, supporting others to grow, and using your technical expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

  • You’ll lead technical audits, file quality reviews and case assessments across liability claims handling activity, identifying technical trends, governance risks, and development opportunities to support continuous improvement and operational performance.
  • You’ll deliver clear coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback to claims colleagues and leadership teams, while supporting the design and delivery of technical training, best practice frameworks, and guidance materials across the business.
  • You’ll also act as a senior technical referral point on complex, litigated, and high-value liability claims matters, managing quality oversight activity across key client accounts while maintaining a small caseload to retain hands-on involvement in claims handling and technical decision making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
