Location: Surrey Salary: £22,312 - £27,572 per annum (Actual salary) Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (36 weeks per year) Start Date: September 2026
Overview
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Librarian to support learners in developing:
- Digital literacy
- Independent learning skills
- Confidence in using modern educational technologies
This is an outstanding opportunity for a library or education professional passionate about:
- Delivering engaging digital skills training
- Supporting student success
- Enhancing the learner experience through innovative library and learning resource services
The successful candidate will work within a student-focused learning environment, collaborating with teaching staff to:
- Embed digital literacy
- Maximise engagement with learning resources
Working Hours:
- 37.5 hours per week during term time only (36 weeks per year)
- One late shift per week (Tuesday until 19:00)
- Occasional Saturday working on a rota basis (09:00 – 14:00)
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging digital skills training to learners with varying ability and experience
- Support students in developing confidence and independence when using digital technologies
- Provide expert guidance on:
- Digital platforms
- Online learning tools
- Educational technologies
- Promote and increase engagement with:
- Digital resources
- E-learning platforms
- Library services
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to embed digital literacy within teaching and learning activities
- Contribute to the development of an outstanding learning centre experience
- Support students and staff with:
- Information
- Research
- Digital resource enquiries
- Maintain high standards of:
- Customer service
- Learner support

Requirements
- Degree or higher qualification in:
- Library Studies
- Information Management
- Education, or a related discipline
- Experience working within:
- A library
- Learning resource centre
- Educational setting (or similar)
- Ability to:
- Deliver digital skills training
- Support learners with diverse needs and abilities
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent:
- Communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- High level of digital literacy and confidence using educational technologies
- Ability to:
- Work independently
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience
