Your Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for the position of Library Assistant to join the staff at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, North Rockhampton. This is a term-time continuing position for 25 hpw, for immediate commencement.
Typical duties include:
- Organise and coordinate Book Fairs and Book Club
- Process student and teacher borrowing and process bulk loans
- Disseminate library information to staff
- Reinforce strict borrowing procedures for both staff and students
- Under the direction of the Principal purchase library resources
- Attend Library Cluster Meetings or Diocesan Library Conferences/Video Conferences when necessary
- Maintain the library as an attractive and inviting space for learners
- Shelve and circulate library resources, cover books and perform general maintenance on library resources
- Cull resources under the guidance of the Principal
- Assist staff in locating library resources
- Assist students in locating library resources
- Create and maintain an inventory of technology resources
- Organise library working bees when needed
- Set up displays in the library

About You
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who are passionate about education and working with students.

- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
