Job Description
Salary range: Grade 6 £35,520 - £36,585 p.a. (pro rata for 18 hours per week) plus fantastic benefits
Contract: Fixed Term /Secondment
Hours of work: 18 hours per week
Location: Croydon
Working Pattern: 1 part-time, fixed term/secondment to 11 May 2027 post 18 hours per week
The working pattern will be Mondays and Wednesdays and alternate Saturdays
Libraries are currently open 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday, you will be required to work full days
Location: The role is based in Croydon Central Library but you will be expected to be willing to work in any of Croydon’s Libraries
About the Role
We are looking for someone who has a passion for customer service and for working as part of a team delivering Croydon’s library services directly to our customers.
The postholder will manage a team of staff whilst delivering high quality customer service. They will support the delivery of activities and events and assist customers with accessing online information and other resources. This could be in a library building or as part of the outreach programme. You will also be promoting all services to a wide range of customers.
You will need to be
- Customer focussed with excellent communication skills
- Experienced in managing a team
- Interested in libraries and serving Croydon’s diverse communities
- A good team worker across all 9 of Croydon’s libraries
- Enthusiastic in your approach to engagement with customers of all ages
