MERITUS are recruiting for multiple B1 Licensed Engineers to join our aerospace client in Cardiff on a long term Base Maintenance contract supporting Boeing 737 Classic and NG aircraft.
B1 LICENSED ENGINEER - £60PH DAYS / £64PH NIGHTS - AUGUST 2026 TO JUNE 2027 - CARDIFF - B737 CLASSIC OR NG - BASE MAINTENANCE
MERITUS are working with a leading aviation maintenance organisation to recruit experienced B1 Licensed Engineers for a long term contract based in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure work through to June 2027, carrying out heavy Base Maintenance on Boeing 737 Classic and NG aircraft. Two shift patterns are available, with competitive day and night rates. If you're an experienced B1 with recent B737 Classic or NG recency and enjoy working within a fast paced Base Maintenance environment, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role
Working as part of an experienced maintenance team, you'll lead technicians during Base Maintenance inputs while carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure aircraft are returned to service safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technicians during Base Maintenance checks and day to day maintenance activities.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and rectify aircraft defects, carrying out investigations and modification work where required.
- Communicate effectively with planners and management to ensure maintenance activities remain on schedule.
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, housekeeping and FOD prevention within the hangar.

About You
We're looking for experienced B1 Licensed Engineers who are confident working independently within a Base Maintenance environment and have strong technical knowledge across Boeing 737 aircraft.
You'll ideally have:
- A UK CAA Aircraft Maintenance Licence or qualifying EASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
- Current type rating and recent experience on Boeing 737 Classic or Boeing 737 NG.
- A minimum of five years' aircraft maintenance experience.
- At least three years' experience within Base Maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, rigging, component replacement and modification embodiment.
- Good structural repair knowledge.
- The ability to confidently interpret and work from approved aircraft maintenance documentation.
