This role ensures aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards, working on complex aviation platforms to support operational readiness and mission success while advancing your career.


Responsibilities

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, your key duties include:

  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Certifying completed work in accordance with Part 145 or equivalent approvals
  • Diagnosing faults efficiently and completing repairs to minimise downtime
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are accurately recorded and compliant with standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and performance

Operational Details:

  • Full-time position based at RAF Cosford
  • 40-hour workweek (including weekends)
  • Possible travel to other Babcock and customer sites

Essential Experience & Qualifications

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a regulated aviation maintenance environment
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
  • Pursuit of relevant type ratings or experience across similar platforms
  • Ability to work effectively in a team while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Clear communication with stakeholders to meet operational requirements

Qualifications

  • EASA Part 66 License (or UK CAA equivalent) – essential
  • Type rating(s) on relevant aircraft (desirable)
  • Human Factors and EWIS training (desirable)

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to achieve and maintain a BPSS Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
