Salary: £37,453 - £40,447 per annum
Full time & flexible hours considered

St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.
At St Andrew’s, we are committed to patient safety, workforce development and ensuring all registered clinicians remain current in medical emergency management training, including Immediate Life Support (ILS). To support this, we are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled professional to join our Practice Development Team as a Life Support and Essential Skills Facilitator.

About The Role
As a member of the Learning & Development team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our registered staff are confident, competent and up to date with mandatory training requirements. This position directly supports our charity’s commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Achieving accreditation in Immediate Life Support with the Resuscitation Council (UK). The successful candidate will be supported to attain this.
- Delivering, assessing, and evaluating training in ILS, Basic Life Support, medical emergency management and clinical skills.
- Supporting the delivery of educational programmes and courses, including teaching and mentoring pre-registration nurses.
- Delivering non-registered essential skills including such topics restraint training, clinical manual handling and induction.
- Focusing on learner experience, knowledge retention, and behaviour change to ensure training truly makes a difference.
Essential
- A registered nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) with at least three years post-registration experience.
- Confident in presenting to and engaging with diverse groups.
- Knowledgeable about equality issues and committed to embedding these principles in employment and patient care.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Positive, proactive, and enthusiastic about learning and development.
- Dedicated to maintaining clinical currency and contemporary practice.

Desirable
- Experienced in delivering high-quality ILS and medical emergency management training in line with Resuscitation Council (UK) standards (desirable)
- Skilled in training design, delivery, and evaluation.
