About the Role

This position reports to the UK Lifecycle Automation Sales Lead and focuses on driving order, revenue, margin, and market share growth within ABB’s Lifecycle Services business across assigned UK Oil & Gas accounts. You’ll lead automation control system modernization and service sales while preserving high standards of safety, integrity, and compliance.


Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll directly impact ABB’s growth, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver business results:

  • Work model: Hybrid from our Aberdeen location
  • Key functions:
    • Implement the UK lifecycle services sales strategy, hitting qualitative and quantitative targets.
    • Lead automation/modernization service sales for Oil & Gas customers, executing targeted strategies to expand ABB’s installed base and market presence.
    • Proactively identify, develop, and convert service opportunities—ensuring lead generation, risk assessment, and timely proposal submissions.
    • Drive direct sales of ABB control systems and lifecycle services, including ADVANT/INFI90 and 800xA modernization solutions.
    • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships, solving issues and adapting solutions to evolving needs.
    • Monitor sales performance, anticipate shortfalls, and correct to secure sustainable growth.
    • Collaborate in key contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with ABB’s commercial policies and guidelines.
    • Promote cross-functional knowledge sharing to align opportunities across teams and geographies.
    • Uphold ABB’s standards—including Code of Conduct, HSE, and compliance—in all activities.

Qualifications

To succeed, you’ll bring:

  • Proven automation sales experience, particularly with ABB’s controls systems (ADVANT/INFI90, 800xA, lifecycle services).
  • In-depth Oil & Gas market knowledge, with a track record of segment-specific strategy execution.
  • Strong customer relationship management, aligning solutions to long-term business needs.
  • Record of surpassing sales targets, including lead generation, risk mitigation, and winning proposals.
  • Familiarity with ABB tools, guidelines, and values—with commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, including contract leadership.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills, sharing insights across teams and geographies.
  • Solid understanding of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) principles.
