Places for People Group: Lifeguard Opportunity at Places Leisure

We are Places for People Group, a social enterprise dedicated to building homes and delivering services so everyone in the community can thrive. At Places Leisure, we redefine active living by fostering healthy individuals and vibrant communities. We are committed to becoming the UK’s leading health and wellbeing enabler.

Our philosophy is simple: people are the heart of the community. We extend this ethos to our team, ensuring every member is supported, valued, and empowered to contribute to our mission.

About the Role

Join us as a Lifeguard at Places Leisure—a dynamic opportunity to work in a thriving, community-driven environment while helping others thrive through active, healthy living.

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a safety-first attitude, passionate about inspiring others. If you’re an active, safety-focused individual eager to develop new skills—especially in aquatic safety—this role is for you.

Your career development is our priority. We’ll support you in achieving a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) if you don’t already hold one, and we’ll offer on-the-job training to ensure you grow. This role is your starting point for a meaningful career, with potential routes into Operational Management, Sales, Fitness, or Customer Service.

As a Lifeguard, you’ll receive:

  • Ongoing training and competency assessments
  • First aid at work qualifications
  • Swimming teacher training opportunities
  • Variety of apprenticeship options

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
