Lifeguard - Hale Country Club & Spa
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lifeguard to join us at Hale Country Club & Spa on a part-time basis, working 16 hrs (2 shifts) per week. This opportunity allows you to work in a prestigious luxury health club and spa, offering the chance to provide exceptional service in a high-quality leisure environment. Your role will focus on ensuring member experience and wellbeing through rigorous safety measures.
Responsibilities
- Supervisor of swimming activities, ensuring safety procedures, guidelines, and policies are followed
- Warning of unsafe activities and enforcing water safety policies and pool regulations
- Administering first aid, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress, and performing CPR or artificial respiration, if needed
- Assessing conditions for safety and devising an aquatics emergency action plan
- Inspecting pool equipment, facilities, and water to confirm they are usable and safe
- Supervising and assisting with cleaning equipment and facilities
- Opening and closing the pool each day, depending on schedule and operational hours
- Instructing or assisting in swimming classes, focusing on fundamentals
- Resolving scheduling conflicts to maintain a safe pool environment for competitions

Requirements
- Advanced swimming abilities
- First Aid trained
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) awarded by the Royal Life Saving Society
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Evidence of continued self-development within fitness
- Ability to be flexible in your working approach and comfortable working on a rota
- An interest in swimming and leisure facilities
