Lifeguard - Part Time - Totton Health & Leisure Centre

Lifeguard - Join Energy & Do Good at Freedom Leisure

At Freedom Leisure, we're all about positive vibes, great people and making a real impact. Yes, we run leisure and cultural facilities, gyms, and swimming pools—but it's our passionate people who make the difference.

About the Role

While not looking for a Duncan Goodhew, we seek candidates with enthusiasm to ensure our customers receive the best service. You’ll create a welcoming environment where people feel at home, supported, and inspired.

We pride ourselves on helping communities enjoy healthier, happier lives through leisure activities. As one of the UK’s leading charitable leisure trusts, Freedom Leisure’s mission is to Improve Lives Through Leisure.

This role requires:

  • A friendly, energetic, and supportive attitude
  • A reliable ability to work flexible hours across a rota (Monday–Sunday)
  • Basic swim ability—training provided if you’re willing to improve!

Inspiring growth: No expertise needed to start—you’ll receive the best training and support. Whether you progress or stay satisfied where you are, we’re happy to work around your goals.

Of course, if everyone close to our UK-wide network of 130+ centres gets involved, they thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety & Service: Provide 24/7 confidence that our venues’ pools are both clean and safe.
  • Customer Focus: Engage with people of any age, ability, or background with genuine warmth.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate across organisation boundaries—always support each other.
  • Flexibility: Follow instructions, adapt to busy times, and excel in busy or slow periods.
  • Confidentiality: Treat customer data respectfully, aligned with safeguarding protocols.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
