‘Getting Stuck In’ – Lifeguard (Team Member Plus) – Splash Waterworld
About the Role
‘Getting Stuck In’ sits at the heart of Butlin’s culture, and we’re searching for new Team Members who thrive on the challenge and love every bit of it!
Unlike traditional departmental roles, as a Team Member, you’ll be part of a dynamic cross-resort team working across various areas to support guests and deliver an outstanding experience from arrival to departure.
Core Lifeguard Responsibilities
Our Lifeguards at Splash Waterworld are key to ensuring our guests have an exciting and safe time both in the pool and on the slides. You’ll:
- Maintain safety at all times by providing vigilant oversight, keeping emergencies at bay through preventive measures and intervention when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service with a warm, engaging approach that reflects our Altogether More Entertaining ethos.
- Organise and lead poolside activities, crafting unforgettable guest memories through fun, inclusivity, and a little competitive flair (think lazy-hours-waterball games, anyone?).
- Work closely with Team Members across marketing, hospitality, and attractions to elevate the guest experience through cross-team coordination.
For those selected, Butlin’s will offer comprehensive training—eliciting the best in your skills while ensuring you our revert time limited of challenges.

Lifeguarding & Swimming Requirements
Not already a fully-qualified lifeguard? No problem! We’ll invest in you with our practical National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course. Our training prioritizes confidence-building while providing all the tools necessary to become a competent lifeguard.
Completion of the following prerequisites is mandatory:
Butlin’s Swim Test (must be passed to proceed):
- Swim 50m in under 75 seconds
- Demonstrate treading water capability
- Complete surface dives
- Prove you can climb out of the pool unaided
