Lifeguards (Full & Part Time vacancies)
Based at our Canary Wharf site, you’ll be working to ensure the safe running of the pools and surrounding areas. We are looking for people with experience of open water lifeguarding and have a passion for health and wellbeing to deliver an outstanding experience. Ideally you will already have the Open Water Lifeguard and / or the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. From sun-soaked swims to community events and family days out, they’re places where people connect, recharge, and create lasting memories. What your day will look like: Every day will bring new energy and fresh faces, but your goal stays the same: connect with our customers, ensure safe use of the pool, and create a welcoming environment for all swimmers Drive Safety and Customer Satisfaction Ensure the pools are safe and inviting for all users through assertive lifeguarding actions Provide a safe environment where you administer first aid when needed. Encourage repeat visitor usage by providing excellent customer interaction to users. Monitor the pool area to ensure that it is maintained at a high level of cleanliness. Be the Voice of South Downs Leisure Deliver a friendly, motivating customer experience and make every conversation count. Explain Lifeguard interventions clearly and confidently so all users feel comfortable and engaged whilst using the facility. Build real relationships that lead to loyalty and long-term, happy members. Support the Team and Community Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure a smooth customer journey. Share ideas to grow participation and promote events. Be ready to get involved at outreach events and in the community networking. Confident with interacting with customers in both friendly and assertive situations. Health and safety trained and with an understanding of COSHH. Your Approach Approachable, positive, and confident in your abilities Resilient and able to bounce back from challenges A team player who supports others Independent and able to stay motivated when working alone What You’ll Get from Us Hours to be agreed at interview and worked over fixed rota covering 7 days per week.
