About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifeguard/Sports Assistant to join the Sportspark and take responsibility for:
- Supervising and maintaining indoor and outdoor dry side facilities of the complex
- Ensuring a safe, quality environment for our customers at all times
- Supporting with lifeguarding duties and other poolside responsibilities
Responsibilities
The role includes the following key duties:
- Undertaking lifeguarding and poolside responsibilities
- Setting up, dismantling, and maintaining equipment across the indoor and outdoor dry side facilities
- Supporting reception during busy periods
- Completing cleaning, maintenance, and administrative tasks

To apply, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- A good standard of secondary education or experience in a directly relevant role
- RLSS NPLQ certification and a First Aid at Work Certificate (or the ability to obtain these within three months of appointment)
- Competence as a swimmer
- Experience in customer service, including multi-tasking
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Experience in the leisure industry, familiarity with dry side facility management, and an interest in sports will be viewed favourably.
Working Conditions & Eligibility
- Post type: Full-time, indefinite contract
- Location: On-campus at UEA Sportspark, Norwich, Norfolk, UK
- Right to work: This vacancy is not eligible for VISA sponsorship — candidates must hold or secure the right to work in the UK.
Additional Information
- Security clearance: This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment requires an Enhanced level DBS check, including barred list checks for children and vulnerable adults. It is an offence to apply if barred from such work.
- Working hours: Adherence to the required schedule for sports and residential complex operations.
