As an ** Installation Engineer**, you will master the installation of new lift systems—hydraulic, traction, and MRL—ensuring they meet specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, supervise junior staff, and drive operational excellence in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Installation Preparation
- Review installation packs, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Conduct site surveys to support lift shaft preparation.
- Manage delivered materials, ensuring no shortages.
- Build strong partnerships with customer and site teams.
Lift Installation
- Install Orona’s hydraulic, traction, and MRL lifts per company and manufacturer standards.
- Ensure installations adhering to correct tolerances, PAS 32 standards, and minimal defects.
- Coordinate team members and phases to streamline timelines.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and train Installation Mates, Improvers, and/or Apprentices.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to elevate the team.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Lead adherence to safety protocols and site rules.
- Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage standards.
Operational Management
- Maintain company tools, vans, and equipment.
- Complete timesheets, job sheets, and installation reports.
- Report progress, delays, and third-party builder coordination requirements to management.

Requirements
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- 3+ years of lift installation experience.
- Deep understanding of EN-81 safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with lift wiring systems and electrical components.
- Proficiency installing hydraulic, traction, and MRL lifts.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Installation or equivalent.
- LEIA Units (Lift Technology) tailored to role requirements.
- SSSTS or equivalent (for senior/lead positions).
- CSCS certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
- Full UK driving licence.
