Reports to: Head of Field & Projects
Start date: As soon as possible

D2E is looking for an experienced Vertical Transportation Field Associate to join our Field & Projects team.

This is a varied, client-facing role involving the independent inspection, auditing and surveying of lifts and escalators. You will assess equipment condition, maintenance performance, installation quality, safety and compliance, providing clients with clear technical reports and practical recommendations. The role will also involve end-of-project snagging and handover inspections for new installations, modernisations and refurbishment projects.

We are keen for the successful candidate to join us as soon as possible, although our priority is finding the right person for the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake technical inspections, audits and surveys of lifts, escalators and associated vertical transportation equipment.
  • Conduct annual condition and maintenance audits, assessing equipment performance, safety, condition and compliance.
  • Review maintenance quality and identify defects, deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess equipment against relevant legislation, British Standards, industry guidance, client requirements and D2E procedures.
  • Undertake end-of-project snagging inspections of new installations, modernisations and refurbishment works.
  • Identify incomplete works, defects, workmanship issues and departures from agreed specifications or applicable standards.
  • Carry out handover inspections and assess whether completed works and supporting documentation are suitable for client acceptance.
  • Verify that previously identified defects and outstanding actions have been satisfactorily addressed.
  • Produce accurate, concise and timely technical, condition, compliance, snagging and handover reports.
  • Provide clear feedback and technical guidance to clients, contractors and project teams.
  • Identify and escalate significant safety concerns, hazards or unsafe working practices.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver a consistently high standard of service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
