Light Vehicle Van Technician Apprenticeship
An excellent opportunity for an outgoing and proactive individual to work for a prestigious automotive company, developing skills in vehicle maintenance and repair while delivering exceptional customer service.
As a Light Vehicle (Van) Technician, you will service and repair all systems within a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, including engine and exhaust systems, air conditioning and electronics. Work will range from replacing parts to solving complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment. With evermore-complex technologies, the tasks are constantly changing.
You will learn the key principles, practices and skills that underpin the role before further developing and applying your skills in more complex situations.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities
- Service and repair all systems within a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes, including engine and exhaust systems, air conditioning and electronics.
- Solve complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment.
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade Grade A*-C/9-4)
- GCSE in Maths (grade Grade A*-C/9-4)
- GCSE in Science (grade Grade A*-C/9-4)
- Apt for practical work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good customer handling skills
- Ability to travel to the place of employment daily
If you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience, please share. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
Benefits
- Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
- Salary will be at least the apprentice national minimum wage.
