Role: Lighting Artist

As a Lighting Artist, you will be integral to crafting the visual atmosphere of our games. You will work closely with Art Leadership and other disciplines to create compelling and immersive environments that enhance the player experience. Your understanding of lighting principles will help you achieve a balance between aesthetic and functional lighting, ensuring our game worlds feel alive and engaging.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up lighting for levels
  • Creating lightmaps
  • Implementing both dynamic and baked lighting solutions
  • Collaborating with the art team to ensure lighting enhances the overall artistic vision
  • Contributing ideas to improve lighting workflows
  • Staying updated on industry trends and techniques

Requirements

  • Experience as a Lighting Artist in the games industry or a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work
  • Solid understanding of lighting principles and colour theory
  • Proficiency with industry-standard lighting tools, particularly in Unreal Engine or similar software
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior artists
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Passion for creating immersive gaming experiences
