Lighting Controls Sales Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Car + Hybrid Working Location: Croydon, London | Type: Full Time

Are you an experienced lighting controls professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for building lasting customer relationships?

We’re partnering with INDGLO, an innovative organisation within the lighting controls sector, to appoint a Lighting Controls Sales Engineer to drive growth across the UK. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in lighting control systems, wanting to develop business relationships, engage with consultants, contractors, and influence project specifications while enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working.


About the Role

We are seeking a Lighting Controls Sales Engineer with a strong technical understanding of lighting systems to:

  • Drive sales across the UK
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and key decision-makers
  • Engage in specification-led sales while ensuring seamless project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build & maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and key account stakeholders to drive repeat business
  • Influencing project designs by engaging professionals and securing high-value specifications
  • Generate new business, identifying and pursuing opportunities in the lighting controls market
  • Prepare accurate quotations based on customer needs, ensuring technical and financial alignment
  • Manage customer interactions via a CRM system, tracking game-changing opportunities
  • Provide project updates to ensure transparency and high-level service delivery
  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth project transitions and delivery
  • Present technical and commercial discussions with industry professionals at all levels
  • Travel nationwide, attending client meetings and supporting on-site project development (occasional overnight stays)

Requirements

Preferred ExperienceEssential Qualities
Technical knowledge of lighting controls, especially DALI systemsStrong business development background
Proven track record in sales and specification-based sellingExceptional communication skills
Comfortable engaging with design teams, contractors, and senior stakeholdersProficient with Microsoft Office & CRM platforms
Ideally holding a background in engineering or project managementSelf-motivated, organised, and results-driven
Willingness to travel nationally, including occasional overnight staysAbility to exceed sales targets creatively
