Step into the culinary heart of The Read House, where timeless 1920s grandeur meets modern sophistication. We are seeking a self-motivated Line Cook to help us craft unforgettable dining experiences across our restaurants, bar, and banquet settings. The role will primarily focus on our fine-dining and award-winning Bridgeman’s Chophouse.
What You Will Do
- Masterful Preparation: Prepare hot and cold food items daily, executing grilling, frying, sautéing, and broiling techniques with efficiency.
- Precision & Artistry: Follow recipes, production lists, and food presentation specifications in a timely and sanitary manner.
- Impeccable Standards: Maintain a clean, organized station and walk-in cooler, upholding exceptional safety and food handling practices.
- Creative Collaboration: Suggest daily specials to culinary leadership and assist the Sous Chef with banquet operations.
- Team Dedication: Perform additional responsibilities as requested by Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or Sous Chef.

What You Will Bring
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of cooking experience in a similar fine-dining establishment, with the ability to handle high-volume production.
- Culinary Chops: Strong professional cooking and knife-handling skills, plus the ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
- Commitment to Quality: Sharp attention to detail and a dedication to premium food and beverage presentation.
- Safety First: Thorough knowledge of sanitation and food handling procedures, with ServSafe certification preferred within 90 days.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask effectively in a high-pressure environment and meet guest demands under pressure.
- Flexibility: Punctual attendance and availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and frequently lift/move up to 30-50 pounds.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
