Line Operations Manager – PepsiCo UK

As the Line Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the stability, capability, and continuous improvement of operations over time. This role focuses on enabling performance not by directly running the shift, but by:
- Coaching and developing Frontline Managers (FLMs)
- Establishing strong operating routines
- Driving sustainable improvements focused on root causes rather than short-term fixes
- Translating daily and shift performance insights into long-term operational excellence
- Strengthening team capability and consistency across operations
Responsibilities
- Role modelling high standards at all times and ensuring full compliance with safety requirements
- Demonstrating high Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and housekeeping standards
- Making decisions that sustain and strengthen operational foundations
- Interfacing with planning, logistics, and site operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end (E2E) supply chain performance at the Lincoln site
- Leading the team by:
- Managing and inspiring performance
- Guiding career development
- Driving employee retention and engagement
- Building organisational capability to deliver strong results and unlock employees’ potential
- Developing and leading a high-performing team, driving accountability in a 24/7 operation for predictable, high-quality results
- Identifying capability gaps impacting performance and addressing them, including leveraging external expertise when required
- Demonstrating strong leadership in challenging situations, using them to reinforce leadership capability
- Supporting, managing, and coaching the Line Engineering Lead to:
- Maintain and further develop line/area maintenance systems
- Improve reliability and equipment effectiveness
- Supporting, managing, and coaching the Specialist/Process Engineer to:
- Maintain and improve equipment, processes, and operating standards
- Drive overall area performance

Requirements
Essential:
- First-line leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead across operations, safety, and quality
- Clear mid-to-senior-level line management experience in an FMCG (manufacturing or logistics) or similar fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication, influencing, and analytical skills to effectively manage stakeholders
- Proven experience in continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, and adopting methodologies
- A results-driven culture with an understanding of the link between actions and outcomes
- Ability to influence upwards and across the organisation
- Strong IT and presentation skills
