Re:link, Linklaters' dedicated platform for contract lawyers, is seeking interim lawyers with strong expertise in benchmark regulation.
You will advise on legal and regulatory issues relating to financial benchmarks. You will be involved in supporting stakeholders on the use, administration and governance of benchmarks, reviewing contractual and disclosure implications, and helping the business manage regulatory change.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the UK and EU Benchmark Regulation frameworks and related regulatory requirements
- Support on benchmark-related governance, disclosures and client-facing materials impacted by benchmark requirements
- Provide legal support on benchmark use, licensing, critical and significant benchmark issues
- Assist with regulatory change projects, implementation work and internal impact assessments
- Work closely with compliance, risk, product and business teams on benchmark-related matters
- Support engagement with regulators, industry developments and internal senior stakeholders
Required experience
- Qualified lawyer with pure regulatory advisory experience
- Strong working knowledge of UK and EU Benchmark Regulation with particular expertise in BMR and MIFID.
- Experience gained in a leading law firm, financial institution or regulatory body
- Comfortable handling complex regulatory issues in a practical, commercial way

Desirable experience
- Exposure to interest rate benchmark reform and transition projects
- Familiarity with broader financial services regulation affecting markets businesses
- Experience advising on cross-boarder benchmark issues
