Linux Engineer/Administrator – Customer Success @ Canonical
This is an opportunity for an Linux Engineer/Administrator with a passion for Linux and Customer Success to build a career with Canonical and support the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open-source products.
You will be accountable for delivering technical support to employees and customers, as well as facilitating AV support for office conferences and events. The Role
Location: Office-based in London, England
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and escalate customer-reported issues by researching and resolving problems related to Canonical’s portfolio of products.
- Collaborate with customers via phone, ticketing systems, and remote sessions to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Ensure ownership of support cases with adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while prioritising high customer satisfaction.
- Familiarise yourself with and support the technical infrastructure for office operations, events, and customer demos.
- Provide technical onboarding support for new employees.

Daily Work:
- Deliver outstanding technical support across the Desktop and Server stack.
- Serve as an excellent communicator while prioritising service-oriented professionalism.
- Actively engage in training sessions, team gatherings, and company events to stay updated on new products and technologies.
Requirements
Essential
- Fluent written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- Exceptional academic track record from secondary school and university (or a compelling alternative narrative if not a traditional pathway).
- Proven ability to exceed expectations and achieve exceptional results.
- Practical experience with:
- Linux troubleshooting (log analysis, debugging via stack traces, and fine-tuning configuration files).
- Linux integration with other environments (authentication/directory services, network file systems, etc.).
- Solid knowledge or hands-on experience in:
- Networking
- Virtualisation / Cloud
- Containers
- Storage technologies
- Ability to learn quickly, thrive in dynamic environments, and handle customer-facing pressure.
- Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for events lasting up to two weeks.
