Robert Half Technology are assisting UK's market leading financial services organisation to recruit a Linux Systems Analyst on an initial 6 month contract - Hybrid working - London
Reporting to the Head of IT Service Delivery, the IT Analyst is a highly skilled, customer-focused technical support professional responsible for delivering exceptional IT services across business-critical applications, infrastructure, integrations, and cloud-hosted platforms. Particular emphasis is placed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, application support, troubleshooting, automation, and maintaining highly available business services.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded, service-oriented IT professional with strong Red Hat Linux administration expertise, broad technical capability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Role
- The Linux Systems Analyst will manage incidents, service requests, problems, and operational tasks within SLA targets.
- Provide advanced 2nd line support across infrastructure, applications, and integrations.
- Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent resolution of problems.
- Support change, release, continuity, and disaster recovery processes.
- Support EDI, AS2, SFTP, and customer integration solutions.
- Work closely with clients and business stakeholders.
- Deliver continual service improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Profile
The Linux Systems Analyst will have strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration experience.
- Linux performance tuning, patching, security, and automation.
- Shell scripting, Perl, SQL, and related technologies.
- Networking fundamentals, SSL/TLS, and secure file transfer technologies.
- Apache, OpenSSL, JBoss/J2EE, Jenkins, and Atlassian products or similar.
- Basic database administration (MySQL, Sybase ASE, or similar).
- Basic SAP administration.
- Microsoft 365, Windows, and end-user support skills.
- Incident, problem, change, and request management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Experience working within SLA-driven environments.

Desirable Skills
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- RHCSA or equivalent Red Hat/Linux certification.
- Additional cloud, infrastructure, or security certifications.
