Linux Systems Engineer – Digital Partner (Cardiff Office)

We are a full-service digital partner looking to expand our IT team with the recruitment of a Linux Systems Engineer with proven experience managing web hosting platforms.

About the Role

This role sits within our IT function, reporting to the IT Manager. You will play a critical part in supporting both our internal systems and our client-facing hosting services, ensuring uptime, security, and reliability while contributing to the growth of our IT operations.

You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where you manage hands-on Linux-based systems and web hosting platforms, balancing day-to-day operations with long-term improvements. Ownership and problem-solving skills are essential—working through issues from initial discovery to final resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Web Hosting & Infrastructure Support

  • Operate, maintain, and patch Linux-based web hosting servers
  • Manage hosting services, including:
    • DNS records
    • SSL certificate management (e.g., Let’s Encrypt, internal PKI)
    • Backup systems
    • Scheduled platform maintenance
  • Monitor and troubleshoot web server performance, website issues, and service degradation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
