Literacy SEN Tutor
Literacy SEN Tutor | Barnet | September 2026 Start
Are you a Psychology or English graduate with a genuine passion for supporting neurodivergent learners?
This Literacy SEN Tutor role is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring educational psychologist, teacher, or SEND professional looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a specialist ARP setting. An inclusive secondary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated Literacy SEN Tutor to join their Additional Resource Provision from September 2026.
As a Literacy SEN Tutor, you will support autistic students in developing core literacy skills, confidence, and communication through structured small-group intervention.
What You'll Be Doing as a Literacy SEN Tutor
- Deliver small-group literacy sessions as a Literacy SEN Tutor within an ARP setting.
- Support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional learning needs.
- Focus on reading, writing, comprehension, and functional communication skills.
- Adapt learning materials to suit a range of neurodivergent profiles.
- Work closely with specialist SEN staff to deliver targeted interventions.

What We're Looking for in a Literacy SEN Tutor
- Degree in English, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Strong A-Level results in English or Psychology (A* or A).
- Strong academic background with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in autism, neurodiversity, and inclusive education.
- Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.
- Aspiring educational psychologist, teacher, or SEN practitioner.
- Experience with young people is beneficial but not essential.
