We are seeking a proactive and organised Litigation Assistant to join our dynamic Celtic Healthcare team in Edinburgh. This entry-to-mid level support role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in legal services, with exposure to clinical negligence and regulatory work.

You will provide essential administrative and paralegal support to fee earners, helping to progress cases efficiently from pre-litigation through to resolution. This is a hybrid working role, following completion of a successful probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist fee earners with the day-to-day management of pre-litigation and litigated Scottish healthcare files.
  • Prepare court documents, pleadings, correspondence, and bundles.
  • Liaise with clients, brokers, experts, and opposing parties to progress cases.
  • Undertake legal research and support case strategy.
  • Maintain accurate case management records and diaries on the firm's systems.
  • Handle incoming enquiries and provide high levels of client service.

  • Previous experience in a legal environment (paralegal, legal assistant, or similar), ideally with exposure to litigation or insurance claims.
  • An undergraduate degree in Scots law or familiarity with Scots law is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid setting while collaborating with a team across multiple locations.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop within a supportive firm.
