Senior Counsel, EMEA Privacy Regulatory Litigation
About the Team
The EMEA Regulatory Litigation team operates within the broader EMEA Disputes function and handles responses to regulatory authorities across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. The team tackles high-profile, precedent-defining regulatory investigations and associated litigation, operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They deliver solutions for groundbreaking matters in collaboration with a market-leading legal team.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Privacy Lawyer to join our EMEA Regulatory Litigation team on secondment. The ideal candidate will assist in—and manage—privacy-related regulatory investigations and associated litigation from the outset through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of privacy-related regulatory matters across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey), including:
- Responsive strategy for regulatory inquires and investigations
- Compliance with regulatory decisions and orders
- Appeals or judicial reviews before administrative bodies or courts
- Lead the development and management of factual and expert evidence where required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement strategic approaches that:
- Resolve regulatory matters efficiently
- Mitigate regulatory and litigation risks
- Provide strategic legal advice to stakeholders in product, commercial, and policy functions
- Oversee external counsel relations, including:
- Budget management
- Strategic oversight
- Reporting frameworks
- Leverage AI-enabled tools for:
- Document review and analysis
- Regulatory research
- Workflow optimization
- Development of scalable processes and playbooks for managing regulatory matters
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in:
- England & Wales
- Ireland
- EU jurisdiction, or equivalent common law jurisdiction
- Minimum 6 years’ post-qualification experience in:
- A leading law firm
- An in-house legal environment
- Strong experience advising on privacy, data protection, or regulatory enforcement matters
- Proven track record in:
- Litigation or regulatory investigation experience
- Managing proceedings or regulatory responses
- Ability to articulate complex legal advice clearly to non-legal stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in the technology sector or highly regulated industries
- Expertise advising on:
- Legal and regulatory risk related to technology products and digital platforms
- Familiarity with EU court procedures, including:
- Proceedings before CJEU (Court of Justice of the EU)
- General Court proceedings
- Multi-jurisdictional regulatory coordination
- Experience managing:
- Large-scale disclosure exercises
- Evidence-gathering projects
- Compliance programs
