We are looking for a Litigator, Employment Lawyer to join our team—where you’ll develop your litigation expertise with opportunities for career advancement and a chance to create a significant impact for our clients.
You’ll manage employment tribunal cases for a diverse range of business clients across various industries. As a crucial member of our team, you’ll benefit from extensive collaboration and achieve visibility for your contributions and work.
About the Role
You’ll leverage your litigation experience to handle a broad range of employment tribunal-related tasks, including managing critical cases, preparing submissions, delivering statements, and coordinating witnesses before hearings. Negotiation with external parties and professional representatives will also be part of the role, with collaboration with colleagues to address broader case-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Preparation: Develop etiology claims, submissions, statements, and representations in readiness for hearings.
- Negotiation: Engage in discussions with external parties, among other responsibilities, to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the department to coordinate case-related challenges.

As part of day-to-day responsibilities, you will:
- Research, draft, and file ET3 tribunal forms—ensuring timely submission of responses and fine-tuned legal submissions.
- Instruct and coordinate counsel to guarantee cost-effective and strategic representation.
- Advocate in tribunal hearings, speaking on behalf of clients with clarity, professionalism, and acoustic influence.
- Prepare, submit, and manage appeals processes post-hearing, ensuring robust legal follow-through.
Requirements
To succeed, you’ll need a robust understanding of employment law and tribunal procedures. Emphatically, we require exceptional advocacy skills, with the ability to persuade, convince in legal forums, and represent clients effectively.

Additionally, eligibility includes:
- A qualifying law degree or equivalent legal training, alongside a current practising certificate (from regulatory bodies such as the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority, Law Society of Scotland, or equivalent).
- Specialised employment law experience, demonstrating expertise in tribunal proceedings and litigation strategies.
- Strong communication abilities—both verbal and written—to meet all stakeholder and courtroom demands.
- A record of strategic decision-making and problem-solving within high-stakes contexts.
- Demonstrated organisational and planning skills, ensuring meticulous procedural management and adherence to deadlines.
- An acute level of business acumen, insight, and organisation rooted in a dynamic law firm.
