We're looking for a Live Haul Driver to join our team at our Hereford site on a part-time basis.

About The Role
As a member of the Primary Transport team, you will be based at our Hereford operation. You will be responsible for ensuring poultry is collected and delivered to the factories in line with bird welfare.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Collecting poultry from farms and delivering to Hereford site.
- Compliance to bird welfare regulations.
- Responsible for checking loads, completing paperwork and general hygiene of lorries.
- Driving daily, following a schedule, to collect poultry and transport back to the factory, in a timely and safe manner, in accordance with driver’s regulations and guidelines.
- To fully understand and comply with all driving regulations and guidelines.
- To meet the supply needs of both factories ensuring the timely delivery of birds without any unnecessary delay to the production schedule.
- To implement and monitor the safe working practices and procedures related to Live Haul and particular areas of the factory in which we work.
- Understanding of both individual and department targets.
- To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines.
- Co-operate in the continuous improvement of Avara Foods Ltd quality, safety and productivity standards.
- Handling/lifting of items to a maximum 18kg.
- Must keep the trailers clean and tidy out to the required standard.
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers in line with Primary Transport procedures.
- Completion of relevant departmental paperwork, timesheets and printing relevant transport paperwork.
- To carry out instructions as given to you by the Primary Transport Shift Manager.

What are we looking for?

- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
- Experience of working as part of a team of drivers
- Basic level of Numeracy and Literacy Ability to carry out manual tasks
- HGV Class 1 driving licence (With minimum 2 years Driving Class 1 vehicles)
- Up to date DCPC Card
- Up to date digital tacho card
- Poultry welfare qualification (Training Given)
- Previous experience in drivers’ hours law.
- Intermediate skills/knowledge in IT.
- Self-driven and able to motivate others
